The teacher

Hello! I am Christina.

I am a native Greek speaker. I live in Greece and I teach my language to people all over the world.

I teach exclusively online, which means my lesson is fully adapted: clear structure, efficient use of tools, and lessons designed specifically for online learning, not repurposed school materials.

If you want to learn Greek because you have family ties, travel plans, studies or life plans in Greece, again, let’s talk.

Studies

  • BA in French Language and Literature from the University of Athens, including extensive training on didactics, linguistics, translation and methodology of teaching a foreign language
  • Certificate for teaching Modern Greek as a Foreign Language, from the Center for the Greek Language

Work experience

  • Teaching online since 2017:  I’m freelancing for individual students and cooperating with learning platforms, such as italki and preply.
  • Creating online learning content for Modern Greek
  • Worked in various corporate roles for 17 years, which taught me a lot about working with people, staying organised and taking responsibility

My own language learning journey

  • I speak Greek, English and French.
  • I’m learning Chinese (and German, Spanish, Russian, Irish, Polish as hobby projects)

Why do my non-Greek degree and my low-level languages matter to you?

Although I can only teach you in Greek, French and English, I know what does/doesn’t need to be explained to you, based on your native language, and what concepts need/don’t need intensive training.

Also, I know how language students feel during class, when they sit down to do their homework, and when they try to actually use the target language with strangers in complex situations.

My French degree? It includes linguistics, methodology, strategies to learn and teach a foreign language and many other relevant skills for teaching a language as foreign/second language.
